Kenny Omega says pro wrestling companies should work together during pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought the world to a standstill, affecting several fields. That includes professional wrestling. Kenny Omega himself is aware many professional wrestlers have been struggling after losing their jobs due to the pandemic.

With no live audience in attendance for shows, a lot of interest for professional wrestling, in general, has reduced.

Omega spoke to Sports Illustrated, where he was asked about a partnership between AEW and NJPW eventually. He said he is open to working with any promotion. He then said that during these difficult times, it would be best if the promotions all collaborated in order to produce the best shows they can.

“Now more than ever, with the entire world struggling, we could really make lemonade out of lemons by putting forth our best efforts for a collaborative effort.”

“That’s the great thing about pro wrestling. A lot of people are in this business because they love making people happy. There are a lot of us in wrestling right now that want nothing more than to make fans happy. We get lost in our own fantasy booking talking about how cool it would be to team up, and there are restrictions in the world right now, but maybe down the road.”

We will have to see if AEW decides to form a proper partnership with NJPW in the future.
