AEW Superstar Kenny Omega is not only a former IWGP Heavyweight Champion but one of the most revered performers of today.
Speaking to Dave Meltzer and Jim Valley on Wrestling Observer Radio, Omega talked about a variety of topics including his win-loss record in AEW, Chris Jericho as AEW Champion and Jon Moxley’s strong booking among other things.
The Cleaner said that he feels AEW made the correct decision by making Chris Jericho the World Champion:
“I do think we’ve made the right moves right now. I do think that having Chris Jericho as our first champ was the right decision and I think that keeping Moxley incredibly strong – if you’ve seen his reactions in the live house, the people love him, I think that’s the right direction for him too.”
Omega also stated that he doesn’t feel the time is right to be a copy paste version of himself from NJPW, even though that is what most fans would have expected.
