Kevin Owens ‘Rejected’ By Top WWE Name

Although Kevin Owens wasn’t apart of WWE Smackdown’s opening this past week, he is undeniably one of the shows biggest stars. Bruce Prichard is the current director for WWE Smackdown as well as WWE Monday Night Raw, and as such there is always bound to be creative differences between Prichard and talent. One example came fairly recently as it was rumored for quite some time that former WWE Universal Champion, Kevin Owens planned to do a jump off of the famous pirate ship at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay during WWE WrestleMania 37. However, Owens’ match with Sami Zayn came and went with no such jump ever to come to fruition. However, Owens did have quite the WrestleMania moment by stunning YouTube celebrity, Logan Paul. Bruce Prichard recently leaked a ‘backstage rant’ by this WWE icon.

It appears now we finally have an answer to why this jump never took place as Fightful Select is reporting “there was discussions between talent and creative throughout the week, but the match not being no-DQ proved a big hurdle.”. This would make sense due to the fact that Owens’ match against Zayn was a standard one-on-one contest. In addition it’s being reported that the weather was the “final nail in the coffin” for the jump idea as it was notoriously stormy during WrestleMania weekend, with conditions being suspect to say the very least. It also didn’t help Kevin Owens that the ship in question was far bigger than many could have anticipated.
