Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to be added to Andre The Giant Battle Royal?

With Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn seemingly falling apart on the latest episode of Smackdown Live, it seemed like we were heading to a WrestleMania match between the two best friends. However, it looks like the two will be added to the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal instead.

News broke first when Dave Meltzer reported the plans for Owens and Zayn earlier this week. However, with the two of them hanging around the top of the card for the past six months, it seemed strange that they would be added to a battle royal that is normally used for jobbers and up and comers. It seems that the rumor is true, though, as Kevin Owens put out an interesting tweet, all but confirming his participation in the match.

It’s unknown if that will be the only match Owens and Zayn appear in, or if they might be involved in something else later on in the card. For the moment, though, it seems like they have been relegated to the pre show.

It’s sad if that is the case. Owens and Zayn have been involved in the main storyline on Smackdown for about half a year now, and with Daniel Bryan possibly backing them, it looked like they would be a part of something huge on the Grandest Stage of Them All. It would be disappointing if, after the year they’ve had, they were stuck on the pre show in a battle royal that has meant absolutely nothing since its inception.
