Khabib Nurmagomedov and Amanda Nunes are two of the most legendary mixed martial artists in their respective classes and during a recent press conference for Khabib’s Eagle Fight Championship upcoming event, EFC 38, Nurmagomedov was asked about the state of Women’s MMA and another top female MMA star – Valentina Shevchenko. Khabib called this top UFC star a ‘scared chicken’ in this recent video
It was during his answer where Khabib would compare Shevchenko to Nunes for Valentina being able to match Nunes’ skill level or surpass it, in the words of Khabib. Credit to SportsKeeda for the below.
“I am not trying to think women’s fights, there are more than enough fights in my life as it is,” Nurmagomedov responded jokingly. “Well, (Valentina Shevchenko) has defended her belt five or six times if I’m not mistaken, five times I think. She’s in the top-tier with only Amanda Nunes matching or surpassing her skills,” said Nurmagomedov (translated from Russian).
Khabib also recently admitted to ‘nearly killing’ this top UFC name. During the same press conference, Khabib would later talk about Rafael Fiziev, another Kyrgyzstani who has caught the interest of Nurmagomedov. He continued his remarks with the following.
“(Rafael) Fiziev’s winning streak is three to four fights and (Valentina) Shevchenko is a champion. Their fights speak for themselves. They are very good.”
