Kofi Kingston breaks longstanding record

Kofi Kingston has had one heck of a career in WWE. He’s won every title possible except the WWE Championship, including multiple reigns as a tag team champion. Kingston has teamed with tons of superstars during his career and has won tag titles with the likes of R-Truth, CM Punk, and Evan Bourne.

However, his latest run with New Day has been by far his most successful run with a tag team. New Day are now five-time tag champs and with the success of the trio, Kofi Kingston has now broken a record that proves his legitimacy and longevity as a tag team competitor. He has now passed Billy Gunn as the superstar that has spent the most total days as a tag team champion in WWE history.

Kingston has now been a tag champion for a record total of 954 days. With The New Day being the current Smackdown Live tag team champions and a staple in WWE’s programming, that total is sure to increase over the duration of Kofi’s career. After all is said and done on his career, Kofi Kingston will arguably go down as the greatest tag team competitor in WWE’s history.

Kofi’s career so far: Show up with a fake accent, have a no story feud with Ziggler for like three years over the US and IC belts, matter for 30 seconds with Orton, like pancakes and unicorns. The end. What about this is memorable? None of it. Thirty years from now, only the die hards of the die hards will even remember this man.

Perfect reply. Even the Dudley’s would agree.

The phrase is “When all is ‘SAID’ and done.” English really needs become more than a required second language. It NEEDS to be understood properly before articles and editorials are published.

“All is SET and done”? Really.

Nobody gives a damn about one guy being a tag team champ with multiple teams, especially when most of them are just two guys thrown together.

I mean, as much as I am a fan of Gunn, he is more remembered as the guy who never broke through as a singles competitor and one half of the New Age Outlaws, than he is as one of the greatest tag guys ever.

Nobody ever says that guy was a great tag wrestler. It is always the team that is mentioned or how someone can never be successful singles guy.

Twenty years from now: Kofi who?
