Kurt Angle Offered Daniel Bryan WrestleMania Match

On the latest episode of the ‘Kurt Angle Show’ WWE Hall of Famer and multi-time WWE Champion Kurt Angle, alongside Conrad Thompson discuss Kurt Angle’s retirement from professional wrestling. Here, the Olympic gold medalist discussed why a potential dream match with another former WWE champion – Daniel Bryan was ultimately proposed by Angle, a WrestleMania dream match, but never took place. Angle ended up wrestling King Corbin at WrestleMania 35, while Bryan wrestled Kofi Kingston. Wrestling-Edge transcribed Angle’s comments. During the same show Kurt Angle revealed how a match with Seth Rollins ruined his WWE return

Angle: I think I had Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble or the Battle Royal in Saudi Arabia but he was the number one guy that I wanted to face, he was my dream match of current wrestlers that were wrestling today. I asked for him but unfortunately I didn’t get him. I believe he was on the other show at the time and so they didn’t have any plans of trading him over or letting him wrestle one match with me.

Angle continued: I understand, he wasn’t on the same show, it is what it is but I would have loved to wrestle Daniel Bryan – he is another one that would have made me look incredible. That’s why I wanted to wrestle him. You have to understand that when you become a seasoned veteran you find out the young guys that can carry you on their back. Daniel Bryan is one of those guys and he has the ability to make anybody look incredible. That’s why he has great matches, it’s not because he looks good but rather because he makes his opponent better than they are.  Kurt Angle wanted a successful run like Goldberg after WWE return
