According to a report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, former TNA and WWE champ Kurt Angle has been telling indie promoters that he will be returning to the WWE come April of 2017. The time frame fits perfectly for a potential Wrestlemania 33 return.
Angle has a few big indie matches coming up, as he’s scheduled to take on Alberto Del Rio on February 12th in the UK for WCPW, followed by a quick turnaround against Cody Rhodes in their third bout, but has been telling promoters that he’s not accepting any dates after that.
It should be noted, however, that this isn’t the first time Angle has been telling indie promoters he’s returning to the big leagues, so take this rumor with caution. The rumor mill always seems to be spewing a plethora of big names out around Wrestlemania season, so we’ll have to wait on official confirmation.
