After weeks of rumors, Shane McMahon made a major announcement through a tweet on Wednesday morning revealing John Cena’s actual role at the upcoming Survivor Series PPV
In the tweet, as seen below the Junior McMahon revealed that the Leader Of Cenation will be joining the male SmackDown Live team at the upcoming Survivor Series PPV:

This announcement is especially surprising because, for weeks, it was rumored that John will be the special guest referee for the Champion vs Champion match between Brock Lesnar and Jinder Mahal.
However, officials shocked everyone with the decision to put the WWE title on AJ Styles by having him defeat Jinder Mahal during the latest episode of SmackDown Live.
And now the company has surprised fans once again by announcing that Cena will not only be returning to WWE Programming but will also be wrestling at the upcoming show as part of the Blue Team.
