Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao and the undefeated Errol Spence Jr. are on a collision course for one of the most hyped super-fights in recent memory as the two are scheduled to compete against one another on August 21, 2021. However, in a recent interview with Yahoo News, Pacquiao recently gave his thoughts on super fights of another variety – the ever-popular ‘boxer vs ‘turned boxer’ fights that we have seen popularized with by brothers Logan Paul and Jake Paul. Logan Paul recently gave a ‘sad excuse’ for not beating Mayweather.
Pacquiao didn’t mince words as he had a lot to say towards not only Logan Paul but towards Paul’s recent opponent and a former rival of Pacquiao himself, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Credit to the outlet for the below quotes.
Referencing the fight, that had no official winner, the man known as ‘Pac-man’ stated that Logan Paul isn’t a legitimate boxer: “I’m not like anyone who just fights for money, even if the opponent is not a legitimate boxer.”
Continuing Pacquiao said: “If it’s all about the money, I would’ve set up a bout against someone who’s not a professional. If it’s really about the money, why would I pick a fight against someone undefeated?… This is the real fight. Not one that matches you against an unprofessional boxer.”
While concluding, Pacquiao proclaimed: “I’m fighting because it’s my passion. I’m used to facing and defeating undefeated boxers to bring honor to my country.
