Maria Kanellis explains what WWE Superstars have to pay on their own

Mike and Maria Kanellis were among the many released by WWE on April 15th, which was the biggest mass exodus in the company’s history. She certainly remembers how she and her husband were fired from the company and how they were treated.

Kanellis took to Twitter recently and revealed that her insurance is dependent on Joe Biden winning the presidential election. She said: “as an “independent contractors” my husband’s, mine and our two babies healthcare depends on it. Insurance companies don’t really like insuring wrestlers.”

One fan asked her whether WWE ever provided insurance. Kanellis certainly said quite a bit regarding the matter. Here is what she said:

No. No benefits, no vacation time, no unemployment, no union, no childcare, no retirement, and we pay for our own rental car, food, tolls, etc… all expenses are paid by us and not reimbursed by WWE.

WWE Superstars are independent contractors which is not the case in other companies. Andrew Yang also promised in the past that if Biden wins the presidential election, he will fight to change how Vince McMahon does business.
