While speaking recently on “Off The Beat with Brian Baumgartner” podcast, the two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion said that he turned to seasoned veteran and former WWE Superstar, The Rock, for some guidance ahead of filming.
“I’ll never forget I actually called The Rock, I texted him and I said, ‘Hey, man, I’m about to star in my first movie, getting ready to do my first scene. Is there any advice you can give me?'”
Following that advice from “The People’s Champ” and the assistance of director Scott Wiper, The Miz strayed away from acting robotically. The Miz said that he was handed the role of Jake Carter in “The Marine 3,” but his acting skills earned him subsequent roles in movies such as “Christmas Bounty” and the sequels of “The Marine” series.
Recently, The Miz had a tough time on WWE RAW this week. The former WWE Champion had tried to gain entry to JBL’s Invitational Poker tournament, where several others were playing already. Unfortunately, for him, he was denied entry by the Hall of Famer. When The Miz approached, JBL stopped him and asked him if he was good for the money, given what he had been hearing about him recently.
The A-List star revealed that he didn’t have the money at that time in cash, but asked to be let in anyway, saying he was “good for it”. JBL was having none of it, and even turned down the offer by The Miz to give him his Rolex, saying that it was a fake watch. The star was disappointed and he walked away.
