Massive Backstage News on Wrestlemania 33 Plans for Undertaker & Roman Reigns, Possible Royal Rumble Winner

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE officials are not planning on having current WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens or WWE Champion AJ Styles going into Wrestlemania as the champions.

Styles will defend his title against Cena this weekend (Sun. January 29, 2017) at the Royal Rumble, while Owens is set to defend against Reigns. It has also been confirmed that the WWE Title will be defended inside the Elimination Chamber in the upcoming February pay-per-view (PPV) event as well.

The Observer states that the Mania line-up so far is looking like Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar, Triple H vs. Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho, Shaquille O’Neal vs. Big Show, The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton and RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Nia Jax vs. Bayley vs. Sasha Banks.

As for who will win this weekend’s Rumble, it is being rumored that Randy Orton will get the nod, Bray Wyatt winning the WWE Title in the Elimination Chamber match, setting up a title bout between the two in Orlando. Goldberg vs. Lesnar could very well end up being for the Universal title, while Kevin Owens vs. Jericho would most likely end up being for the United States Title.

It is also being discussed that NXT star Samoa Joe is set to be called up as well to feud with John Cena, possibly setting up a match at Wrestlemania. AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon is also being looked at as a possibility.
