Matt Hardy’s contract with WWE is expiring on the 1st of March 2020. Hardy has been very vocal about his disappointing booking in the past few weeks and many believe that him signing a new contract is very unlikely.
PWInsider reports that Hardy has had continued discussions with the WWE regarding his contract and status in the company. However, his contract will still expire very soon and there has been no change in his status with the company either.
Legends like Mick Foley have also openly criticized WWE for misusing an asset like Hardy. Fans are also in agreement with Foley and many of them have been wanting Hardy to quit the company and head to AEW and elsewhere.
