It was recently reported that during Riddle’s match with Retribution member Mustafa Ali that the WWE United States champion suffered a nasty and awkward bump while attempting what was supposed to be an Avalanche Backstabber. However, this went awry as Riddle jumped before Ali could pull him back. However, it appears that Riddle is going to be A’OK.
In a follow up to this story, FightfulSelect.com reported, “On WWE Raw, Matt Riddle took a nasty spill at the end of the match when the finish with Mustafa Ali went awry. We’re told that he’s fine, and didn’t seem injured coming through the curtain after his match on Monday. Riddle also got new “stallion” themed side plates for the WWE United States Championship.”
In other news regarding ‘The Original Bro’ continued to target the Undertaker for allegedly not being supportive enough of the newer generation of WWE superstars. In a recent interview with Metro the current WWE United States Champion stated: “Pro wrestling is the most outlandish high school you’ll ever go to. Monday Night Raw is just like, ‘what’s gonna happen this week?’ Matt Riddle refused this Undertaker ‘fight’ in WWE.
Continuing Riddle said: “If anybody has a problem with anybody, nobody says it. It’s always like, ‘pst pst’. I’m like, why are we hearing stuff like this? ‘Say something, do something! I’m not saying you have to go The Undertaker route and fight each other and be men about it!”
Riddle concluded by saying: “Some of the legends come in, and they find their own locker room. They stay away from the boys. But then there’s legends like Gillberg, Edge, Christian – legends like that, they came in, they sat with all the boys in the main locker room. We jib-jabbed, flapped gums, talked shop and had fun.” This WWE star wants Matt Riddle fired after ‘disrespect.’
