Mauro Ranallo reveals reason behind his departure from SmackDown last year

Mauro Ranallo’s departure from SmackDown last year was the catalyst of a lot of controversies and there were reports that he left the brand due to issues with then commentator John Bradshaw Layfield.

While in later interviews, Ranallo had claimed that these reports were false, so far there was no confirmation on the actual reason why the SmackDown Star decided to leave.

However, during a recent episode of The MMA Hour, Mauro finally revealed the reason behind his departure saying that the travel had destroyed him:

The road travel destroyed me. “I said, ‘I’m done, cannot do this anymore. It’s gonna kill me,’ and I thought I was done with the entire company.

It’s worth mentioning here that at the time, Mauro was not only working at SmackDown Live but he was juggling between his commitments with Showtime boxing, Glory kickboxing and more as their play by play man.

Though thankfully Ranallo didn’t stay away from WWE for very long and he ended up taking a commentary role at NXT just 2 months after his departure from the Blue Branded Show.
