Prior to the Starrcast event, Ric Flair underwent surgery and was unable to attend the event. He was reportedly set to reveal the All Elite World Title, but that honor was given to Bret Hart due to Flair undergoing surgery.
While his surgery was scheduled, the complications that happened prior to the surgery were unexpected.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Flair was hospitalized for blood clots in his leg and chest before he had his heart surgery. It was also reported that Ric Flair has been dealing with blood clots for years now.
The blood clots were why they had to delay the surgery a few days until they were able to clear them up. Flair suffered blood clots in his leg years on two different occasions in 2013 including the first time while going to Japan.
Thankfully, the surgery was a total success and Ric Flair is now recovering well at home. We hope he does not have any further complications in the future.
