The video, shared on November 30, playfully addressed Melania Trump’s fame in Slovenia, stating, “The most famous person in my country is… Melania Trump. If that doesn’t say something about the music industry in Slovenia, I don’t know what will.” While poking fun at the former model, Dolic introduced viewers to some of his favorite Slovenian artists.
Melania Trump, born in Novo Mesto, Yugoslavia (now Slovenia) in 1970, gained fame as a model in Europe before moving to New York in 1996. She married Donald Trump in 2005, becoming the second first lady born overseas when he was elected president in 2016. Despite a humorously informal poll on Straw Poll naming her the “Most Famous Slovenian,” Melania Trump faced low popularity ratings during her husband’s presidency, with a CNN/SSRS poll in 2021 reporting a 42 percent approval rating.
