Former US President Donald Trump had been charged with plotting to overturn his 2020 election defeat. He was accused of four counts including conspiracy to defraud the US, tampering with a witness and conspiracy against the rights of citizens.
The indictment caps an inquiry into events which led up to the 6 January 2021 riot at the US Capitol – when supporters of Mr Trump stormed Congress in a bid to thwart the certification of Joe Biden’s election victory. Five people were killed, including one Capitol Police officer who was beaten by rioters.
It has come to light via MSN that Grisham said even her top advisers did not know how she spent her days in the White House.
“It was a mystery,” she said, adding they often thought she was shopping online or reading magazines. During the Jan. 6 riot, Grisham wrote in a memoir, Melania was at a photo shoot for rugs in the residence and did not want to issue a statement.
(The former first lady told Fox News that she would have denounced the violence if she’d been “fully informed of all the details” and that the photo shoot was “a very significant undertaking and requires great care, attention to detail, and concentration — both in the planning and execution.”)
