Former President Donald Trump’s wife Melania Trump is seemingly trying to flee the United States as her husband faces multiple legal issues, taking their son Barron to Europe this summer.
The former first lady celebrated her 53rd birthday on Wednesday night with a ‘low-key celebration,’ People magazine reported.
Donald Trump was expected to be there if his schedule allowed. But the former president was silent about his wife’s big day on his social media platforms. Instead, in his multiple posts on his Truth Social platform, he talked about the upcoming 2024 election, pointing to polls that show him beating Joe Biden and describing the current president as ‘GROSSLY INCOMPETENT AND BASICALLY, DOESN’T HAVE A CLUE!’
It has been noted that he also wasn’t present at a New York courtroom this week where writer Jean Carroll accused him of raping her in a dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman in the mid-1990s. Trump has denied the charge.
Melania has stayed silent as her husband battles in the courts and on the campaign trail. She was at the announcement for his 2024 presidential campaign but hasn’t appeared at any of his rallies.
She notably skipped a speech Donald Trump gave after he was arraigned in New York on charges related to a hush-money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels. Donald Trump pled not guilty to a 34-count felony indictment.
She was at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday, where her parents also have lodging, to spend her birthday.
”Melania likes a low-key celebration with family and that I believe is her plan for this year’s birthday,” a source told People. ”If Donald is here, he will be joining the family to celebrate his wife’s birthday. Despite what you hear, the Trumps are a close family.”
Additionally the former first lady is looking to ”take Barron to Europe this summer.”
”Melania is in charge of Barron and his well-being and no matter what else is going on in her life, he plays the lead role,” the source told People.
