Mike Tyson and Michael Jackson are two of the biggest names in the world due to their immense contribution in their respective fields. It is needless to say that Tyson had beef with multiple celebs and it has come to light that MJ also entered the list unknowingly. It happened after the ‘King of Pop’ failed to recognize Tyson back in 1988.
Mike Tyson opens up on Michael Jackson
Tyson doesn’t seem to hold any grudges for the later American musician. However, he honestly admitted to hating Michael Jackson at one point. Mike Tyson revealed it in his latest episode of HotBoxin podcast with Cheech and Chong.
Tyson knocked out Michael Spinks in the first round of their fight and was encouraged to go and meet Michael Jackson by his then-promoter Don King. However, ‘Kid Dynamite’ didn’t receive a proper response from MJ.
Recalling it, Mike Tyson said:
“I’m with Don King. He [Jackson] goes like this [makes the peace sign] to Don King. So I go like this back [makes the peace sign]. Once I do it, he [Michael Jackson] sees me, he puts his hand down. That’s just it,”
Meanwhile, Mike Tyson claimed that he went to see Michael Jackson personally in the backstage but the ‘King of Pop’s reply vexed him. Tyson said:
“Excuse me, Mike, where do I know you from?’ You look familiar. Where do I know you from? I said f*ck Michael Jackson.”
