YouTube sensation Jake Paul recently announced a fight with boxing legend Mike Tyson. The two will face other in the ring at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, on July 20. It has been noted that both fighters will earn huge purses from the event, which will be broadcast live on Netflix globally.
‘The Problem Child’ has battled just one regularly active boxer in his career and lost to Tommy Fury by split decision last year. His three-fight winning streak since consists of a points win over MMA legend Nate Diaz and first-round stoppage wins over Andre August and Ryan Bourland, who had fought just twice in the previous four years combined before facing Paul.
“He’s the greatest heavyweight of all time, the most vicious KO artist ever,” Paul posted on X shortly after the announcement on Thursday. “But I’m younger, I’m faster and I’m going to be working my ass off to get stronger. A member of my team sent me this video that Mike’s coach put up two weeks ago and asked me if I’m said you sure you want to do this… Yes, yes I do. Heavyweight.”

Well, it seems that not everyone is thrilled with the match as Michael Bisping describes the matchup as a “joke”, exposing the inconvenient truth for Paul. The YouTuber-turned-boxer is on a quest to be taken more seriously in the sport after padding his 9-1 record with fights against ageing MMA stars earlier in his career.
