MMA Fighter Stabbed Girlfriend And Hid Her Body

Recently, new details have surfaced in the case of an ex-MMA fighter from Nashville who is accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend and hiding her body. Dwayne Herrelle Jr. was taken into custody after allegedly stabbing 24-year-old Irene Torres to death upon her arrival home from work late on January 28. Both Herrelle and Torres worked at the same bar, and the prosecution presented surveillance footage in court on February 15 that allegedly shows Herrelle repeatedly stabbing Torres.

According to Metro Nashville Police Department Detective Derry Baltimore, who was present during the hearing and autopsy of Torres’ body, “They got into an argument and he begins stabbing her, and after stabbing her, he put her in the trunk of his car.” Baltimore went on to reveal that Torres had been stabbed over 17 times. The details of the crime are truly gruesome, and the case remains under investigation.

The incident came to the attention of the police after Torres’ parents viewed the footage from the security cameras at their residence. Herrelle had initially told Torres’ father that she was staying at a hotel when he confronted him about her whereabouts. However, the victim’s purse and pants were discovered in a dumpster located behind a nearby grocery store. Following this, Herelle’s apartment was searched by the police after he allegedly confessed to Torres’ father about his actions. The investigation is ongoing and the police are gathering further evidence.

“We went to the closet area, and I could see the victim inside of a clear tote, like she was wrapped in some type of comforter,” Baltimore said.
