Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live to have less commercial time

It looks like we’ll be seeing less commercial breaks during Raw and Smackdown in the future. According to Rick Porter of TV By The Numbers, NBC Universal is looking to cut back on the number of advertisements viewers experience in primetime in 2018-2019. We could see this take place as early as this fall.

NBCU’s networks, including USA, will show 20% fewer ads along with 10% less commercial time. Ad breaks will more than likely feature two or three longer ads as opposed to the five or six thirty second ads we’ve been seeing. NBCU is also promoting a “Prime Pod” for its advertisers, which would give them a sixty-second ad break in the first or last commercial of a show.
