Money in the Bank Kick-Off Show (6:00pm Eastern Time)

Money In The Bank Kick-Off Starts NOW!

The familiar WWE Forever starter theme signals the start of the Money in the Bank Kick-Off show which begins promptly at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time / 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time. The Kick-Off show can be viewed below:

Broadcaster’s Podium

We are welcomed to the Money in the Bank Kick-Off show as we head to the podium in an empty studio where Scott Stanford welcomes us to the Kick Off show, then introducing “the iconic” Peter Rosenberg standing next to him. The MITB clock counting down in the lower right corner of the screen reading “58:20” as Rosenberg gives a special “Happy Mother’s Day” wish to his own mom.

Stanford and Rosenberg announce Renee Young, Booker T, and JBL will share their thoughts and comments throughout the show. Then Stanford makes note that WWE Network gives new subscribers a 30-day FREE trial.

Now, the two begin running down some of the matches scheduled for tonight’s show, starting with the highly-anticipated “Climb the Corporate Ladder” men’s and women’s matches, which Rosenberg talks about being excited to see how they are presented in terms of the “Cinematic” style.

Check-In From WWE “Titan Towers” Headquarters

After running down some of the card and sharing their thoughts on the Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt match for the WWE Universal Championship, Stanford and Rosenberg shoot it to a fellow WWE broadcast team member who checks in from the lobby at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, CT. to run down the rules for tonight’s Men’s and Women’s “Climb the Corporate Ladder” Money In The Bank matches.

Renee Young, Booker T & JBL Check-In

Now the two kick it over to the trio of Renee Young, Booker T and JBL, who share their thoughts on the aforementioned MITB Ladder Matches at WWE HQ. Each WWE personality give their take on the matches before shooting it over to Kayla Braxton.

Kayla Braxton Interviews The New Day

Kayla is joined by the SmackDown Tag-Team Champions The New Day — Big E. and Kofi Kingston, who talk about their title defense against Lucha House Party, The Forgotten Sons and the team of The Miz and John Morrison.

Now we’re back in the studio where Scott Stanford and Peter Rosenberg talk more about the Four-Way match for the SmackDown Tag-Team Championships. Stanford predicts a win for The Miz and John Morrison and then kicks it to a WWE 2K Battlegrounds video game commercial. The new game is set for a release in the fall of 2020.

SmackDown Women’s Championship Discussion

The pre-show hosts are back and now we’re breaking down the SmackDown Women’s Championship showdown between current title-holder Bayley and Tamina. The two talk briefly about the bout before kicking it to a video package that starts off showing a video Tamina released on social media directed at Bayley.

Jeff Hardy vs. Cesaro

We shoot to ringside inside the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, where the announce team of Michael Cole and Corey Graves welcome us to the first match of the evening — Jeff Hardy vs. Cesaro in tonight’s Money In The Bank Kickoff Show.

Hardy makes his way out first as his entrance theme sounds and he makes his way down the ramp into the ring. Out next is opponent, Cesaro as his music plays him to the ring where awaiting opponent Hardy is already standing in-ring.

The referee signals for the bell, the bell sounds and here we go with our first match of the evening on the MITB Kick-Off show!

Early on it’s clear that “The Charismatic Enigma” has some ring-rust issues, as Cesaro jumps off to an early offensive lead. He dominates the smaller, more weathered veteran with a variety of unique offense, including a lot of high-impact strikes mixed in with punishing mat-based wrestling holds.

Hardy goes sailing out to the floor and Cesaro capitalizes. Back in the ring, Cesaro is tearing and scratching at the face-paint of Hardy as he has him in a chin-lock. Cesaro sends Hardy sailing through the ropes and out to the floor again.

Back in the ring, Hardy is finally showing signs of life and is now slowly working towards a comeback. Cesaro keeps cutting it short. Hardy looks for a Twist of Fate, but Cesaro is having none of it, as he avoided and reversed the move.

Now it looks like Cesaro may have tweaked his knee after Hardy landed awkwardly on it as he came flying off the top-rope with his patented “Whisper in the Wind” move. Hardy ends up following up with a Twist of Fate. He covers him, but Cesaro somehow kicks out at two.

Cesaro is fighting back for control of the match, which he gets and he capitalizes by hitting a monstrous gut-wrench power-bomb off the top-rope for a near fall. He looks for The Neutralizer, however Hardy manages to avoid it.

Hardy rolls out to the floor to re-group, however Cesaro goes out after him, charging and crashing into him in the barricade. Cesaro favors his knee, the same one he hurt earlier in the bout, and Hardy takes over.

Jeff Hardy throws Cesaro into the ring steps and his leg takes the brunt of the impact. Hardy runs and in one motion walks across the tight-rope thin top of the ring barricade, and table all the way over to Cesaro, who he leaps and splashes on.

Back in the ring, Hardy hits his Swanton finisher off the top-rope and covers him. 1-2-3. Hardy wins.

Winner: Jeff Hardy
