More details on Vince McMahon’s mindset behind recent changes

The decision to relive Paul Heyman as the Executive Director of Raw came as a big surprise to fans as many believed that the show was doing well under the guidance of the former ECW owner.

The latest wrestling observer newsletter provides some more details on the behind the scene changes and it reveals how Vince McMahon’s mentality has changed recently.

According to the report, Vince McMahon was all for the future when Heyman was first appointed but his mentality changed when the pandemic hit the market:

“It’s said by those close to the situation that once COVID-19 started that McMahon’s mentality changed about everything. Previously, the mentality was all about the future. The XFL was a long-term play. Raw under Heyman was a long-term play. Expanding NXT into Europe and Japan, and opening up other markets under Paul Levesque was a long-term play. Now the mentality is to worry about what you have and think about now, even though the company is going to be more profitable this year and next than probably any time in its existence.”

The reports also note how the lack of an audience made it hard to figure out which acts were truly starting to get a following from the fans.
