For most of 2020, SmackDown’s Murphy was involved in a high-profile storyline involving Rey Mysterio and his family. The storyline which initially started off as a feud between Murphy’s former benefactor Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio underwent a lot many developments over the months which ultimately led to Murphy’s betrayal of Rollins and his romance angle with Aalyah mysterio.
However, the former RAW Tag Team Champion hasn’t been used on Television as of late. Murphy is a fan-favorite Superstar and his disappearance has led to a lot of speculation among the online wrestling fan-circles.
According to a report by Ringside News, Murphy has been regularly attending the weekly SmackDown tapings but the company simply doesn’t have any program to use him in. His romantic angle with Aalyah Mysterio has been on an extended break and there is no information about the future of that storyline on the Blue brand.
We’ve been asked about Murphy’s status since he vanished from television. We were told that, like Bo Dallas, Murphy has been around backstage. They just don’t have anything for him and he’s not being used. No word on what’s going on with the romantic angle that they left in limbo.
