Natalya’s heel turn didn’t come through following father’s passing

Natalya was Ronda Rousey’s friend as soon as she made her debut in WWE. After Wrestlemania, the two seemed to be best friends on television, so a future was expected. But now it seems that won’t be happening due to Natalya’s father Jim Neidhart passing away.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that plans for Natalya and Ronda Rousey feuding had been dropped weeks ago and in light of The Anvil’s death as well.

It is reported that the belief backstage in WWE was that after her father’s passing, WWE felt they could no longer plan a heel turn for Natalya.

Thus, they now have Nia Jax feud with Ronda Rousey. Natalya was supposed to turn heel around this time, but obviously, that didn’t happen.

It is interesting to note how WWE wanted Natalya to play the role of a sympathetic heel, following her father’s death.  It might have been beneficial for Natalya since it would have made for a proper storyline. Where she would turn heel due to the grief she suffered.

Regardless, we most likely won’t be seeing a Natalya heel turn anytime soon, nor will the two ever feud.
