New dates for AEW’s New Year’s Smash specials announced

Due to Brodie Lee’s untimely demise, AEW had to change up plans. Instead of holding the first night of New Year’s Smash on this week’s Dynamite, they will be holding a special tribute show for Brodie Lee.

It seems the company does plan on airing those specials, but the dates have been altered. Tony Khan took to Twitter and revealed that New Year’s Smash’s first night will be taking place on January 6th.

The second night will be airing on January 13th. Snoop Dogg will be appearing on the January 6th episode as scheduled.

#AEW New Year’s Smash will now take place across the first 2 weeks of 2021, on January 6 + January 13 on @tntdrama. I’ll announce the card for this week’s #AEWDynamite Celebration of Mr. Brodie Lee’s Life in a moment. Thank you to all who have shared their love for Jon this week.

We will have to see how Lee’s tribute show will be this week on Dynamite.
