Sonya Deville was involved in a horrific incident last month, where her life was at risk. A man named Philip Thomas II was stalking her online for several years. He tried to kidnap Deville, which he had been planning on doing for the past 8 months. He broke into her home with the intention of holding her hostage.
Deville was granted a temporary injunction against her stalker, which had been extended to November 12th.
Deville’s situation has brought to light the risks of celebrities having their residential homes publicly known. According to a report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is currently talk on “both sides of the aisle in the Florida legislature” in order to introduce a new bill which will let celebrities keep their residential homes private.
The idea is that major sport pro athletes, wrestlers who appear on television and actors and actresses from SAG cards would be able to get their home addresses made confidential within the state
With the introduction of this bill, incidents similar to what happened with Sonya Deville will no longer be taking place as potential stalkers will not be able to find out the addresses of celebrities.
