New Universal Championship match announced for WWE Crown Jewel; Braun Strowman turns face?

As reported earlier tonight, Roman Reigns has vacated the WWE Universal Championship. Reigns revealed to the world on Monday Night Raw that he was battling leukemia, and wouldn’t be able to keep up with his duties as champion anymore.

With Reigns now having to step away from in-ring competition, for now, Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman will face each other one-on-one for the Universal Championship. The Beast Incarnate and the Monster Among Men will meet at WWE Crown Jewel in a few short weeks.

An hour into Monday Night Raw, Paul Heyman addressed the WWE Universe, giving his respect, and his sympathies, to Roman Reigns. He then discussed the upcoming match, saying that Braun Strowman doesn’t have what it takes to carry the Universal Championship.

Strowman then came out to say that when he wins the title, he’ll bring it back to Monday Night Raw every week. The Monster Among Men then said that regardless of their issues in the past, Roman Reigns is first in line when he returns.

Strowman finished by saying Lesnar was going to Get These Hands. However, when he turned around, Drew McIntyre leveled him with a Claymore.

It looks like the WWE will move forward with Strowman as a face, taking on the two other behemoths on Raw, Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre.

It also could be a know fact that Braun Strowman also don’t play well with others.

I know they wanted to wait until Wm 35 but Brock Lasner is probably going to win the Unversal title be gone to UFC. So Braun Strowman will have to win it sooner.

Agree and he was only with Drew and Ziggler to help him against The Shield but now that is over.

Aligning himself with Ziggler and McIntyre was not the actions of a tweener, which is what annoyed so many people. That was out and out heel behaviour. The problem was how it was handled as well. His justification for putting a team together was actually the right thing as the Shield used heel tactics and screwed him over, but to go to two heels for that backup was not the way to do it, and his actions after were pure heel.

I never saw Strowman as a heel anyway. He was a tweener to me, beating down whoever got in his way, face or heel.

It will be Braun Strowman night. I know they were trying to wait until WM 35 but I think it long over due.
