We noted before how the latest episode of SmackDown Live did very poor numbers and the show dropped below one million in viewership, bringing in even fewer people than AEW Dynamite for the episode.
The WrestleVotes twitter account recently provided some update on the matter and it revealed what the WWE officials were hoping the numbers to be for this episode on F1S.
According to the source, while the officials did expect the drop, the company still hoped to do the same numbers they were doing on USA Network:
Internally, WWE expected this past Friday’s SmackDown to do similar numbers to what the show was doing on USA Network prior to the move. It didn’t come close.
The Tuesday night to Friday night move hasn’t gone as expected, regardless of what FOX channel the show is on.

They expected similar numbers to what it was doing on USA, roughly in the ballpark type numbers. And it wasn’t.

SmackDown was doing close to 2 million viewers on USA during its last few weeks on the network so it’s safe to assume that the officials must have been disappointed with the numbers that actually came out.
