News On WWE Having Issues With ROH & NJPW For Booking Jushin Liger At NXT Takeover: Brooklyn

– WWE announcing that Jushin “Thunder” Liger would be working the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn event last week and has opened up a “political hornet’s nest” due to Liger being a New Japan Pro Wrestling talent and NJPW being a partner of Ring of Honor. As noted, ROH runs head-to-head with NXT in the same city that night, with a show also featuring NJPW stars.

ROH was expecting to do 2,000 people for that show on August 22nd but has only sold 1,100 tickets. The belief is that since WWE announced that the NXT show in the same city as ROH, people have chosen to go to the WWE is instead of the ROH show.

– Speaking of WWE – ROH, WWE recently contacted at least one venue that ROH uses with the idea that WWE will run them if they no longer book ROH events.
