Nick Aldis reveals contractual status with NWA on “Keepin it 100”

NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis recently appeared on Konnan’s “Keepin It 100” and talked about his relationship with Billy Corgan. The Smashing Pumpkins frontman has turned into quite a wrestling promoter and done well reviving NWA in recent years.

One of Corgan’s key weapons in accomplishing that is Nick Aldis. The two-time NWA World’s Champion was vital in his plans, and Corgan doesn’t plan on Aldis leaving anytime soon.

In fact, Aldis revealed that Corgan picked up the option in Aldis’s contract, keeping him there for at least another year.

“I had an option on my contract and Billy picked it up and like I said, I would not have opened up any discussions with anyone without talking to – This is ‘Keepin It 100,’ I just care about that paper. That’s it, and Billy’s been very loyal to me, and I to him and I truly believe in what we’re doing with the product. I wouldn’t walk away from it because we haven’t even scratched the surface of what we could accomplish.”

We’ve seen NWA talent appear on AEW recently, and Nick Aldis has a history with some AEW stars including Cody Rhodes. If Corgan hadn’t picked up Aldis’s option, we may have seen him showing up on Wednesday night. Still, Corgan clearly sees how vital Aldis is to his promotion.
