It has been noted that WWE Hall of Famer Jesse Ventura didn’t have the best relationship with former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. Vince turned down a concept of a WWE political party pitched by Ventura.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, WWE Hall of Famer and former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura revealed that he pitched the idea to McMahon. Ventura noted that WWE create its own political party, the “World Wrestling Party,” with McMahon teasing his candidacy for the presidency.

“I went out to him and I said ‘Vince, we can do an angle right now. You can come out with the WWE and say we’re going to have our own nominee for president, the WWE party, the World Wrestling Party.’”

The storyline would have culminated in a match where Ventura’s chosen wrestler would win, making Ventura the official presidential candidate for the WWE Party.

“I’m a governor. I’m the natural WWE candidate for president, then you do a schmoz where Vince and I get two wrestlers to represent us. Whoever wins gets the nomination.”

However, the angle never materialized and Ventura noted that McMahon didn’t even bother to respond to his proposal. Ventura felt he got disrespected by the lack of communication and stated that he would have accepted a rejection if McMahon had simply told him the idea was too far-fetched.

“He didn’t even bother to call me to turn me down. I thought that was the most disrespectful thing…  If he did just called me and said, Jesse, it’s too crazy. It’s too hokey. I don’t think we can do it. I would have said fine. I gave it a try. But he didn’t even call me back.”
