It has been noted that the husband of GOP candidate Nikki Haley (R-SC) shot back at former President Donald Trump with a biting meme on X (formerly Twitter) after Trump questioned why her spouse wasn’t at her side.

It’s worth noting that Haley’s husband, Maj. Michael Haley, is serving a yearlong deployment in Africa as a National Guardsman.

Trump was unsuccessful in getting much of a reaction at his rally Saturday in Haley’s home state of South Carolina when he repeatedly shouted, “What happened to her husband?”

“She comes over to see me at Mar-A-Lago. ‘Sir, I will never run against you,’” Trump told the crowd. “She brought her husband. Where’s her husband? Oh, he’s away. He’s away. What happened to her husband? What happened to her husband?! Where is he?! He’s gone. He knew. He knew.”

After the crowd failed to cheer, Trump tried to get himself out of the awkward situation: “But, no, think of this, think of this. ‘I will never run against you, Sir!’ But it’s all over tape.’”

We’ve got like 19 vers— The Great Dan Scavino made like 19 versions of it. “I will never run against him!”

“Will you run against the presi— I will never.”

A little while later, “I’d like to announce my candidacy.” We don’t need people like this, and I’ll tell you why. She did a job, she was fine, she was OK, but I didn’t put her there because I wanted her there at the United Nations. That was up to me.  I wanted to take your lieutenant governor, who’s right here, and make him governor! That’s what I wanted.

Following the rally, Maj. Haley hit back at the former president by tweeting a meme which featured the face of a wolf with the words, “The difference between humans and animals? Animals would never allow the dumbest ones to lead the pack.”

Nikki Haley, who is the last GOP candidate running for the nomination against Trump, also slammed the former president on X, posting, “Michael is deployed serving our country, something you know nothing about. Someone who continually disrespects the sacrifices of military families has no business being commander in chief.”
