NJPW cancelled more events due to COVID-19

The COVID-19 outbreak is far from stopping and shows no signs of improvement. Despite steps taken by Japan, too many people are still getting infected. As a result of this, New Japan Pro Wrestling was forced to make a difficult decision.

The company hoped they would be returning to business by their March 31st Sakura Genesis event. However, things did not go the way they expected.

Both the Sakura Genesis and Road To Dontaku show on April 11th have been cancelled by NJPW. They have said the following regarding their decision:

“Acting under the latest recommendations laid out by the Japanese Ministry of Health, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has arrived at the decision to cancel Sakura Genesis, which was scheduled to take place Tuesday, March 31 in Ryogoku Sumo Hall, and the Road to Dontaku event that was scheduled to take place in Sagamihara on Saturday, April 11.”

The entire world is at a standstill due to the disease and we can only hope the situation improves in due time.
