NJPW filmed television tapings in California secretly

NJPW had been off television due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. However, NJPW is returning from its hiatus very soon.

It seems like NJPW USA might also be making its return. PWInsider reports that the company filmed television tapings for NJPW USA in California recently.

Former MLW Tom Lawlor was present at the tapings and is scheduled to make his debut for NJPW with this show.

The report states that Jeff Cobb, TJP, Rocky Romero, Clark Connors, Alex Coughlin, Karl Fredericks, and Misterioso were also present for the tapings. The tapings were reportedly titled “Lion’s Break Collision” and about 9-10 matches were taped for the show.

PWInsider.com has confirmed 9-10 matches were taped in front of a closed set with social distancing rules used during all times for production.

The talent roster used was exclusively American and featured what will be the official New Japan Pro Wrestling debut of former MLW Champion Tom Lawlor.

Other talents who worked on the taping include Jeff Cobb, TJP, Rocky Romero, Clark Connors, Alex Coughlin, Karl Fredericks and Misterioso, among others.

It is unclear as to when the company will make use of this footage. After missing months of action, NJPW is looking to make its comeback in a big way.
