NJPW teases working with AEW

NJPW is officially done with AXS TV. Anthem Sports bought the network and only pushed Impact Wrestling, neglecting NJPW. Now it seems NJPW might start working with AEW.

Hiroshi Tanahashi said that if he beats Chris Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom 14, he might challenge him for the AEW World Title. Jericho later accepted the challenge.

While it seemed to be social media banter, things have gotten serious now. The official New Japan Pro Wrestling YouTube account confirmed the stipulation for the match at Wrestle Kingdom 14.

With New Japan Pro Wrestling acknowledging this stipulation, it could definitely pave a way for them to have a working relationship with AEW. Their loss of AXS TV provides the perfect opportunity for them to work with AEW.
