NXT Announcer officially walks out of the WWE

Several reports in the past few weeks suggested that NXT Announcer Percy Watson was on his way out of the company to pursue a career in acting. However, these reports seem to have been confirmed.

Beth Phoenix has now made her debut as an announcer on NXT and has taken Watson’s spot on the table. Furthermore, Mauro Ranallo also sent out a farewell message to Watson on Twitter earlier this week.

Now, Dave Meltzer has confirmed Watson’s departure from the company in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter. However, no official “future endeavour” tweet has been issued by the company regarding Watson’s release.

Either way, we hope that Watson makes it big in his upcoming career as an actor.

The title of this article is very misleading. There’s a difference between a formal resignation (most likely the case since Mauro publicly addressed it) and someone suddenly quitting and “walking out” without notice.

    “Walks out”?
Somehow I doubt he has just walked out knowing that WWE contracts are as tight as a ducks backside.
If he has left it is mutually agreed or else he will be sitting on the sidelines until his contract ends.

He may have asked for his release and had it granted, but he cannot “walk out” without legal repercussions.
