In the main event of NXT TakeOver 31, Finn Balor defended his NXT Championship against Kyle O’Reilly. The two truly went to war as it was a very physical match, with Balor retaining his title. However, it seems both Superstars suffered possible injuries during the match.
WWE released an official statement where they revealed both competitors were undergoing medical evaluation following the match. O’Reilly had a busted face, but it seems Balor suffered a possible jaw injury which could have ended the match earlier than planned.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned it is not known how many minutes they “had to shave off,” but the match did end earlier due to Balor getting injured.
The severity of Balor’s injury is not yet known. We will keep you updated on his condition.
