WWE NXT RESULTS (2/26): WINTER PARK, FL.

Opening Segment

An “NXT! NXT! NXT” chant from the audience as we enter Full Sail University Arena in Winter Park, FL for tonight’s episode. The commentators speak on Charlotte Flair as she is shown arriving via a stretch limo as her match with Bianca Belair is highlighted.

Dominik Dijakovic vs. Cameron Grimes

Dijakovic makes his way to the ring to start off the first match of the evening as his music sounds. Out next is his opponent Cameron Grimes as he comes out in a leather vest, hanging on the ropes as he shouts at the audience. The bell rings and the match begins.

Double D drags Grimes to the match with a Side Headlock, then goes for the Leap Frog Leap Year. Grimes with a Waist-lock on Double D followed by a Dropkick. Grimes with a knee to the side of Double D.

As we come back from commercial, Grimes lands a kick to the face of DD, DD with a massive elbow to the face followed by a Face Lock. DD hits a Suplex on Grimes. Both men back to their feet, Roundhouse Kick by Grimes countered with a Super-kick by DD. Clothesline by DD for the follow up for a pin attempt. Grimes kicks out at 2.99 count.

Forearm by Grimes leaving DD rocked, Grimes goes for pin attempt. DD kicks out. The audience chanting, “Let’s Get Grimey!” as DD goes over the top. Damian Priest shows up out of nowhere hitting DD in the back of his knees with a weapon. DD drops to the mat outside of the ring, the referee beginning the count.

DD makes his way back into the ring as the referee gets to the count of 9, Grimes hitting DD with a Double Stomp for the pin as he enters the ring for the three count.

Winner: Cameron Grimes

Backstage: With William Regal)

William Regal Announcement (following reminder of the Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley match at Wrestlemania is official), next week several qualifiers will go on to Takeover: Tampa, they will fight in a Ladder Match for a chance at the NXT Women’s Championship.

We go to commercial.

As we come back from commercial we see Dominik Dijakovic was taken out by medical officials during the commercial break, following the attack by Damian Priest during DD’s match up with Cameron Grimes.

Finn Balor, “The Prince” In-Ring

Finn Balor comes out under the name “Prince Balor” The “C” is “X”d out in Prince. Balor climbs the ropes to look directly into the camera. Balor struts the ring with a leather jacket, a big red “X” on the back of it. Balor says he’s “not an internet guy” or “a sneaky stooge to the office politics guy” but when the bell rings, he’s “the guy”. The crowd pops.

Balor continues on say he builds brands. Japan, done it. Mexico, done it. Intercontinental Championship, done it. Universal Championship, done it, NXT championship, done it! It’s Wrestlemania season and Balor has been at his peek for 20 years. He asks what’s the next move for the prince?

Imperium’s music sounds. They tell Balor he was misinformed about all he’s done. The NXT UK Champion Walter would like to send his regards. The crowd begins chanting, Walter! Walter!” Balor flies over the top rope onto Imperium members. Flying Forearm as Balor gets beat down in the 2 on 1 attack. They look down and stand at attention around Balor before exiting to their music.

Backstage With Bianca Belair

Bianca is stopped backstage and asked about Charlotte Flair and their match up. Belair declared she was gonna “whoop that ass” and tonight is “on sight” as she walked off.

Xia Li vs. Mia Yim

Xia Li, the first Chinese competitor to step into the NXT ring, makes her way down the ramp and into the ring as her music sounds. Mia Yim makes her way out next as her music sounds. The bell rings and the match begins. Dropkick from Yim early on. Li gets dropped my Yim followed by a 2 count early pin fall.

Boot to the face by Yim as Li is stuck in the corner. The crowd claps to encourage the two, Rolling Senton by Yim. Back and forth between the two women. Yim looks up the ramp as Dakota Kai’s music sounds, interrupting the match. Kai grabs the mic saying Yim stole her spot, now was the perfect time to fix that.

Xia Li with a quick roll up for the three count and the win.

Winner: Xia Li

After the Match

Yim is in shock. Gonzales runs into the ring and attacks Yim. Li comes back in and defends Yim, apparently caring more about sportsmanship. Gonzales hits Li, knocking her out of the ring. Gonzales once again turning her attention on Yim, Power Bombing her in the center of the ring before rejoining Kai on the ramp.

Backstage

Tommaso Ciampa shown working out backstage as we go to commercial.

Backstage

As we come back from commercial, we enter a room backstage where Dream is standing. Dream is shown looking into a vanity mirror at his back, saying Strong broke his back, but all he remembers is beating Strong in that match. Dream then speaks directly to Mr. Regal, saying he wants Roderick Strong to experience the steel cage. With a snap of his fingers the screen fades to black.

Austin Theory vs. Tommaso Ciampa 

Austin Theory makes his way to the ring as his music sounds in the arena. Theory looking ready following last week’s match interruption by Ciampa. Out next is Tommaso Ciampa as his music sounds in the arena. Ciampa locks eyes with Theory as he makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring. Ciampa removes his shirt as the lights come back up. The ref signals for the bell. Bell rings, match begins.

Early lock up , Ciampa throwing rights at Theory. Theory back and forth on the ropes, knocking Ciampa to the mat with a forearm shove. Theory gets Ciampa into the corner, followed by a Dropkick and a cover. Ciampa immediately kicks out.

Ciampa gains control in the match as he slams Theory’s body onto the top rope, falling to the outside of the ring. Ciampa follows Theory to the outside, once again slamming him into the barricade on the outside of the ring. We go to commercial.

We come back from commercial, Standing Moonsault followed by a Back Press by Theory onto Ciampa. Ciampa throwing blows to the ribs of Theory as Theory throws Ciampa from turnbuckle to turnbuckle. Ciampa with a series of Clotheslines as he builds momentum. German Suplex followed by driving a knee into the face of Theory.

Rolling Thunder by Ciampa for a roll up and a two count, Theory kicks out. Ciampa lifts Theory back to his feet, throwing a Chop to the chest. Knife Edge Chop as Theory sits on the top turnbuckle. Ciampa looking for the Avalanche, Theory counters. Both men back in the ring. Jabs thrown back and forth. Ciampa with Rolling Thunder, Buckle Bomb by Theory for the counter.

Finally Ciampa exits the ring. Theory throws Ciampa barricade to barricade, similar to what Ciampa did during his attack on Theory last week. The fight makes its way back in the ring, Fairy Tale Ending by Ciampa for the three count.

Winner: Tommaso Ciampa

After the Match

As the replay is being shown, we suddenly kick back to the ring where Johnny Gargano enters the ring in street clothes, trying to blindside Tommaso Ciampa. Ciampa begins throwing blows at Gargano. Theory gets Ciampa’s attention momentarily as Gargano lands a Super-kick on Ciampa. The crowd begins a, “Johnny Sucks!” chant as Ciampa is on his knees in the center of the ring. Gargano with another kick to the face of Ciampa.

Gargano sits on the edge of the ring as Ciampa is laying on the apron. Gargano starts a clap among the audience. Ciampa lifts his hands up and Gargano drags him off the apron, circling him. A split chant of “Johnny Wrestling” and “Johnny Sucks” within the crowd.

We go to commercial break.

As we come back from commercial, Undisputed Era cut a promo about being the number one faction in NXT.

Bronson Reed vs. Killian Dain 

Bronson Reed makes his way to the ring first as his music sounds in the arena. Out next is Killian Dain as his music sounds. Dain talking smack as he makes his way down the ramp, entering the ring with Reed. The bell rings and the match begins.

Quick lock up between these two big brawlers. Dain gets Reed into the corner, following up with a big kick. Irish Whip by Reed, followed by Reed flying through the ropes, landing on Dain on the outside of the ring. Dain throws kicks on Reed as he re-enters the ring. Dain with a quick pin for two.

Seated Abdominal Stretch by Dain. Bronson makes his way back to his feet. Double Cross-body in the center of the ring. Both men fall to the mat. The referee starts a count. Dain and Reed both back to their feet as they exchange hay-makers. Headbutt by Dain. Bronson with multiple Headbutts. Clothesline by Bronson. Samoan Drop by Dain on Reed.

Reed blocks a Vader Bomb, followed by a DDT onto Dain. Reed makes his way to the top, Dain climbs to the second rope. Dain lands a Suplex on Reed from the top. Senton by Dain, followed by another Senton. Vader Bomb by Dain for the three count and the win.

Winner: Killian Dain

Forgotten Sons vs. Grizzled Young Veterans

We come back from commercial. Grizzled Young Veterans James Drake and Zack Gibson make their way out first as their music sounds in the arena. They call the Forgotten Sons typical yanks. They say they have concurred Europe, as they go to continue the tongue lashing, Forgotten Sons music sounds interrupting the GYV’s.

Forgotten Sons members Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler make their way to the ring. Jaxson Ryker hyping Blake and Cutler before the match. The bell rings and the match begins.

Quick tags and a few near falls early on in this match. Drake exits the ring, only to run into Ryker on the outside. Blake takes out both Grizzled Young Veterans as we go to commercial.

Forearm to the face of Drake as we come back from commercial. Gibson tags in. Gibson has Blake in a hold on the mat, Blake finally breaks it. Drake makes tag. As does Cutler full of fury. Belly to Belly by Cutler. Clothesline turning Drake inside out. Cutler gets the two count on Drake. Cutler lands Boston Crab on Drake. Gibson breaks up Boston Crab.

Cutler lands Buckle Bomb for the cover, Gibson with the assist, putting Drake’s foot on the rope. The crowd chanting, “USA! USA!” once again. Gibson trips as Ryker follows him on the outside. Jaxson takes out Ryker. Standing Dropkick by Blake. Ticket to Mayhem for the one two three!

Winner: Grizzled Young Veterans

Backstage

Tegan Nox asked how she mentally prepares for a match with former friend Dakota Kai. Nox says next week Raquel isn’t a factor next week. She started this in a cage, and will end it in a cage.

Charlotte Flair shown back stage, Flair back for the first time after four years. We go to commercial break.

Charlotte Flair vs. Bianca Belair

Charlotte Flair makes her entrance into the ring as her music sounds and she is formally announced. The 10 time women’s champion calls the referee over as she makes her way to the apron, pointing for him to hold the ropes for her. Flair removes her robe, joining the ring with Bianca Belair. The crowd starts chanting, “You Don’t Go Here”.

Flair grabs Belair in an early lock up, shoving Belair into the corner. The crowd chanting, “Let’s Go Charlotte”. Belair gets a Waist-lock, Flair counters with a Waist-lock of her own. Reversals back and forth between the two. Flair lands a Forearm on Belair. Belair with a Dropkick on Flair following a flip off the ring post. Belair not letting up for a second.

Flair lands a Chop as the crowd chants, “Wooo!” with each one. Flair off the ropes with a Big Boot to the face. The crowd cheers as Flair extends her arms. We go to commercial.

We come back from commercial break, Belair throws Flair into the ring post on the outside of the ring. Belair re-enters the ring. Flair follows Belair into the ring. Belair looking for the quick victory with a roll up, Flair kicks out. The crowd with “You Don’t Go Here” chant again, Flair lands a Neck Breaker on Belair. Belair with Double Chicken Wing and the pin. Flair kicks out.

Belair shoves Flair in the back of the head. Flair with knees to the midsection of Belair. Flair sinking in the Abdominal Stretch. Flair grabs a handful of hair. Belair reverses the Abdominal Stretch. Flair finds a way out. Belair with Handspring Moonsault on Flair. Both girls out of breath and energy. Belair walks into a Back Elbow by Flair.

Flair to the top. Flair jumps over Belair and lands the Boston Crab. Belair gets out with Jackknife Cover, Flair kicks out. Flair lands Power Bomb on Belair, Belair kicks out of pin attempt. Flair tied up in the rope, Drop-kicking Flair through the ropes. The fight goes to the outside. Belair throws Flair back in the ring. Belair to the top, rolling through, then hitting a Spear on Flair. Flair counters with a Spear of her own, flipping Belair and pinning for the three count!

Winner: Charlotte Flair

After the Match

Flair exits the ring, grabbing a chair, throwing it in. Flair puts Belair’s ankle between the chair, crushing Belair’s ankle. Rhea Ripley’s music sounds, Ripley comes down to the ring, Ripley enters the ring, Flair rolling out as the show ends.
