We noted before how the Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy had issued an open challenge to anyone in the world who met the required 205-pound weight limit.
This non-title open challenge took place during this week’s episode of 205 Live and it was answered by NXT Star Humberto Carrillo who made his debut for the brand.
Even though he lost the bout, Humberto went on to put a great match with the Cruiserweight Champion and his performance was praised by the fans. You can check out a video of his debut match below:
It’s worth mentioning here that Carrillo was recently listed as part of the 205 Live Roster when WWE announced the Worlds Collide Tournament for Royal Rumble weekend.
While the company was quick to fix this mistake and remove him from the roster, this mention had made many believe he will be answering the open challenge of Murphy which turned out to be true.
