NXT Stars win indie titles

It’s well-known fact that WWE has a working relationship with British indie promotion EVOLVE, though they took their relationship to a completely new level at their latest show.

At the latest Evolve event titled Evolve 114, not one but 3 current WWE superstars competed against different champions from the promotion and to the surprise of many, defeated their talents to win the belts.

The first two of these were NXT Stars Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins who are dubbed together as Street Profits who competed for the Tag Team titles.

They answered an open challenge issued by the now former champions Chris Dickinson & Jaka together known as Doom Patrol and defeated the local team:

And if this was not enough, another NXT superstar Fabian Aicher made history when he won the Evolve World title in the main event of this Internet PPV:

The funny thing is, there are a lot of current WWE guys (not just UK talent) that I have watched in a local promotion just up the road. So yeah, a lot of good stuff going on over here.

100% agree. And I’m sure, alot of those guys, would love to wrestle in the WWE. Great exposure. Great possibilities. UK also has a great territory IMO. Alot if their undies, are actually really good.

Some people might not be happy with these “WWE” guys coming in and taking “home grown talents” belts, but this could be a huge deal for Evolve. It’s quite common for UK promotions to bring in guest wrestlers from across the world to bring in a few extra punters, so having guys from WWE developmental hold their belts is actually incredible exposure, especially if they bring those belts to NXT as well.
