Season 2 of the Mixed Match Challenge began as a round-robin tournament back on September 18th. Throughout the season, multiple stars have been replaced.
Kevin Owens, Braun Strowman, Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks were replaced due to injury, and AJ Styles was swapped out with Jeff Hardy on the same night he lost his WWE Title. Tonight, Finn Balor had to drop out due to illness, leading to Bayley finding a new partner in Apollo Crews.
Crews and Bayley faced off against Team Mahalicia, Jinder Mahal & Alicia Fox, who were the #4 seed on the Raw side of things. The SmackDown semi-finals featured Team Awe-Ska, the winners of Season 1, and Team Fabulous Truth, also #4 on their side of the bracket.

Bayley seemed to have the match wrapped up after a Bayley-to-Belly to Fox. The Singh Brothers would pull her out of the ring mid-pin, saving her and Mahal from elimination. While she and Apollo Crews took care of the Singhs and Mahal, Fox would ultimately pick up the win with a big boot.

On the blue side, The Miz and Asuka never got on the same page, arguing constantly throughout the match. Multiple times The Miz tagged himself in, angering the Empress. However, he finally felt her wrath after pulling her in front of Carmella’s superkick late in the match.

After she recovered, Asuka beat down her tag team partner and left him for R-Truth who finished off the A-Lister with an Unprettier.
