The Pennsylvania Athletic Commission is still in the process of deciding whether Charles Oliveira’s submission victory over Nik Lentz will stand due to his win coming after he landed an illegal knee to Lentz’s head in the second round of their bout at Sunday’s UFC on Versus 4 event.
“I want to double-check everything and spend some time with the referee on that,” Greg Sirb, the PSAC’s executive director, today told reporters. “We should have it done, I would say, probably Tuesday night.”
Sirb said the UFC’s decision to withhold Oliveira’s purse is at their discretion. The PSAC does not release the contracted show and win purses for fighters, so the amount being withheld from Oliveira is unknown. However, both Oliveira and Lentz were awarded an additional $50,000 each for the “Fight of the Night” bonus.
