Original plans for Dean Amborse’s heel turn

This week’s episode of Raw was an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish and featured members of Shield making unexpected moves in both starting and finishing segments of the show.

The opening segment saw Roman Reigns relinquishing the Universal Champion and just when we thought Raw would end with a feel-good moment with his brothers winning the Raw Tag Team Championships, Dean Ambrose turned on Seth Rollins.

While Ambrose’s turn had been teased in recent weeks, it still came as a shock due to the circumstances surrounding it, and it’s not a big surprise that the heel turn wasn’t the actual plan for the show.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, the original plans called for the Shield to stick together for some more time and Dean was originally expected to turn heel at around the time for the Survivor Series PPV.

Though the company arguably made the right call and the heel turn on this time will make Dean one of the top heels in the current roster for sure.

With the company being undecided on WrestleMania 35 main event, the big question here is if WWE can keep this momentum going and if we can see these two Shield Brothers competing against each other in the main event of the Show Of Shows next year?
