Original plans for Lio Rush revealed

Lio Rush made his debut on 205 Live earlier this year and then he was called up to Raw not too long ago but the original plans for the lightweight star were very different.

Prior to his 205 Live debut, Rush had been tagging with Babatunde Aiyegbusi in NXT and these two worked some matches in the development territory.

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original plans called for this pair to stay together in 205 Live where Rush would have continued his heel run.

The idea was for him to become the top heel of the brand eventually with the 6 foot 11-inch Aiyegbusi being someone Rush could hide behind.

No word yet on why WWE changed these plans but Lio Rush ended up debuting on Raw in September and became the manager of Bobby Lashley. Babatunde, on the other hand, remains in the development with no apparent plans for his immediate future.
