Original Sin Cara Talks About Racism In WWE

In light of news of Alberto Del Rio claiming in an interview published last week in Fighting Spirit Magazine that it was not uncommon for people in positions of power in WWE to openly say racial remarks around employees under the guise of jokes (read here), another former WWE Superstar is making similar allegations.

AAA wrestler Myzteziz, who initially portrayed the Sin Cara character in WWE, said in an interview published Tuesday on MedioTiempo.com, that he was subject to a lot racism behind the scenes in WWE. He said the ‘gringos’ in WWE could “very racist,” with the “bosses” even making racial remarks—he did not specifically indicate whether he was subject to racism from wrestlers in the locker room.

Myzteziz does not cite racism as the reason he didn’t succeed in WWE, but feels it created a bad environment for minorities.

Despite the racism he experienced in WWE, he does not rule out a return to the company. He considers wrestling in the United States an honor, and after having gone through the experience, knows what to expect.
