Former pro boxer Oscar De La Hoya recently expressed his frustrations with the lack of repercussions for UFC president Dana White. Recently, a video clip was released showing the MMA promoter and his wife, Anna, at a nightclub in Mexico. The pair were seemingly in a heated argument, which took place on New Year’s Eve. During the argument, White was slapped by his wife, and he returned with several of his own.Oscar De La Hoya, a longtime critic, and foe of the UFC president believes the incident was swept under the rug.

On The MMA Hour alongside Ariel Helwani, the head of Golden Boy, who’s already taken shots at White for the slap, blasted him once again.

“There’s a lot of powerful people behind the UFC,” stated Oscar De La Hoya in a recent appearance on The MMA Hour. “There’s a lot of money behind the organization. What he did was obviously wrong, you don’t hit women, like c’mon! You just don’t, it’s a douche move, it really is. You don’t do that.”

He continued, “But look, the powers that be kept it under the rug. Swept it under the rug. I’m not going to get involved or say anything about it. I mean, everyone knows that he is a douche.”

He said White could face arrest, “Maybe criminal charges will happen? Who knows?”

Meanwhile, De La Hoya believes Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis could deliver at the box office. The gears are in motion for Garcia and Davis to collide in a massive boxing bout with April 15 the targeted date. Both fighters are undefeated, with Garcia at 23-0 (19 KOs) and Davis at 28-0 (26 KOs). Davis currently reigns as the WBA lightweight champion.

Garcia is a member of De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions stable, making the De La Hoya a key figure in the negotiations that also involve networks DAZN and Showtime. Once everyone gets on the same page, De La Hoya expects pay-per-view buys to be in the millions.

“We’re all working together to blow this one out of the water,” De La Hoya said on The MMA Hour. “We want to make sure that this event here, because it’s such a special fight, we want to make sure that this fight does 2, 2.5, 3 million homes. This is that type of event.”

“Realistically, close to 2.5,” he continued.
